This has the potential to be a very tricky opener but if Daniela gets through this one then there's a real good chance for the semis. Daniela will need a fast start out of the blocks and if her serve is on fire then she should win easily enough. I guess you never know with first match on grass.

Playing in Birmingham you have to be prepared to play two matches in one day, particularly if you go deep into the tournament. With the weather as it is this week Daniela's matches, if she gets through against Cirstea, will probably pile up towards the latter stages of the week. Her experience should bode well.

sb must have been breaken down at centre court, at once 5-0 daniela

and closes the set with her serve to 6-0! great! seems to be that the break doesn't affect her game

daniela breaks to 3-2

4-2, 4-3, 5-3 her serve is good

break, set and match daniela :beer:

Great win especially how comfortable it was seeing as there was such a long delay. Hopefully the weather will improve so daniela can be fresh for eastbourne as big points up for grabs there. 2 matches on one day isn't fun but at least with grass matches are usually short. Doing well here would give her top 24 seeding for wimbledon so hopefully daniela can seize this opportunity.

Well played Daniela-excellent BP conversion rate,particularly on grass.

It never ceases to amaze me-we've barely had a drop of rain in England for the last 2 months,but stage an international tennis tournament(or a Test match),and suddenly it starts pouring down!

A nice win by Daniela who totally dominated the match. Her stats are great and she did a great job on BPs. She's maintaining her clay form on the grass and there's no let down after Roland Garros and the clay season.

Daniela Hantuchova started her women's singles campaign at the AEGON Classic in style as she defeated Sorana Cirstea 6-0, 6-3.
The fourth seed was impressive in her straight sets win in her first grass court match of the season on Centre Court at Edgbaston.
"I'm really enjoying my time on court," said the Slovakian after her win. "I'm not putting any pressure on myself. I didn't expect it to be so easy, it was my first match on grass, I'm definitely on the right track."

Kudryavtseva beat Shazza at Wimbledon a few years back so she can't be underestimated but her results this year haven't been great. Daniela beat her in Charleston and she should win this match as well.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Bit of a wobble in the second set towards the end, but another comfortable win. At the moment it's Alison Riske in the firing line for the quarter finals. A set up and currently playing a breaker in the 2nd against the 8th seeded Rezai
