Very lackluster play from Dani today. I watched the whole match on the Tennis Channel and thought Dani had a chance to win this one especially in the first set when Safina was playing so erradically.

Safina settled down and began to play better but Dani's play never improved. I'd rank her play at a C- today....

Exactly right. It was a poor, shoddy performance from Daniela-the type we have seen all too often over recent years. That it should happen at Indian Wells just adds insult to injury. :(

This sucks. The match would have been so different if Daniela had been able to convert one of the set points.

Daniela's inconsistency strikes again. Sadly it came at IW. I knew that this scenario was possible, but I had faith in the tennis she's been showing for the past couple of weeks.

Back to the drawing board, I guess. I hope she doesn't lose much confidence

Maybe Miami will be better?

ps: why does daniela always draws the "getting (back) into form" player? There are just way too many examples.. Pity.

It's a dissapointing tournament because with a better draw I think Daniela could have done well here.
At least she's still in the doubles so has another match (maybe more) before Miami.

I'm not so sad about this loss. She'll bounce back in miami. Hey she's already won a tournament this year. A good who for safina. Sometimes a bye can be detrimental. It wals a close match dani had set points. Its not the end of the world. Dani shoulda played monterray. She's never good when she hasn't had match practice for a while...

i was expecting Daniela to win as well as Kvitova. both lost and both had great form recently, that´s not fair. :(

I'm sure everything is ok. Great result! Bet 5th seeds. Both Daniela and Agneiszka are quality doubles players. It seems the trend is that one week Dani has a good singles week and the next she has a good doubles week. The real test will be King/Shvedova as they have good chemistry and are in sync.
Great win girls. This is confidence for Daniela.

What's annoying about this loss is that this was a great chance to move up the rankings...

Safina beat Stosur in straight sets yesterday, and will meet Sharapova in the fourth round. If she beats Sharapova aswell then I think it'll be safe to say that she's back to at least top-twenty standard.
