This is very tough. I hope it doesn't affect Daniela in the long run. She seemed completely frustrated at the end and the UE followed.

Even though she served for it nothing at all to be ashamed of. Good job today, she has to be exhausted.

I also think daniela ran out of gas. A real pity, since she had big chances.

Zvonareva seemed more tired than Daniela, that's why she was calmer in the end to spare some energy imo. Daniela played well, but her mentality let her down in key moments. I mean she really didn't hit a single one 1st serve in during that 5-4 game in the 3rd set. Very disappointing.

She was playing great, but then there were those ups and downs...

The match could have gone either way. Daniela was the one making the play, Zvonareva was mostly waiting for Daniela to make the errors at the end of those sets... which was the right tactic for her. Daniela had her let downs at the end of each set. Pity. But Never mind. I hope this loss doesn't affect her, too. Don't want her to be frustrated. It would be a shame. She was playing well despite she must be very tired.

She needs to recover and get ready for upcoming tournaments. If she plays like this and is more fresh than today, she can win against most of the players out there. Zvonareva had better luck today.

She probably shouldn't have called for the coach at *5-4. No point in cluttering your head up at that point, and as has been noted, she failed to make a first serve when she really needed to.

And after the break-back,she melted down really badly(time violation, audible obscenity),which of course, was exactly what Liptak told her not to do. The post-match discussion between the two will be interesting.

This sucks. I feel really drained and empty right now. It's just crushing disappointment that Daniela couldn't get a win that her play would have deserved but I also feel proud that she played so well and fought so hard for so long. She never really fell away until she went over 9 hours on court in the last 3 days. I do wonder how different things could have been if there wasn't that distraction in the stands at 5-3 or if Daniela had gotten ahead in the game when she was serving at 5-4 as Zvonareva was never behind and never under any real pressure in that game.

Although Daniela's didn't make first serves when she was serving for the match at 5-4, some of Zvonareva's retrieving was absolutely incredible and Daniela's groundstrokes would have been good enough to have won the points against almost any other player at that stage of the match. That frustrated her.

This is so disappointing and right now Daniela must be devastated right now but she can look back on this tournament and take a lot of positives as she had another top 10 win this week, battled hard and played good tennis.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

"Too bad ... I am now terribly upset, because I have this very good match was in hand. I terribly wanted to be in the semifinals again," said Daniela Hantuchova, and added: "I went on court with determination to win and I think I It should succeed in straight sets. Already in the first I had the upper hand again in the third there was a lot of chances, so I turned it all over again. I look at the DVD-CCA and I will try to learn what I should do better. Thus, shortly after the heat of battle it is difficult to analyze, I need to cool. At the end I was a little nervous and Vera definitely something for a third of the world. Nothing can not be free. I had it therefore does not finish the game itself and to me. SUPERKOV undoubtedly be advantage and that at this tournament attended an easy match, while I trojsetové two. In the end, it nonetheless reflected, although I still struggled. I have long felt 'okay', but maybe in the last two gemoch proved my tired of it all."
@ google translation.

Hantuchova made a secret after losing a huge disappointment. "Bothers me terribly because I was so close to advancing to the semifinals. I fought, as could be, so I won the second set and when I already had, so I hesitated a little. Such games are difficult to forget. Unfortunately, today I'm somehow neprialo," Hantuchova said and continued: "Vera is the third player in the world. At the end played very solid, make less errors and it was very balanced. The game can be decided one, two balls."

Hantuchova match during several discussions with the referees about their verdicts, and even got the warning. "We had some exchanges in the longest match and judge gave me the 'timing', pretending I stayed. Doing when you take the guys what they do with towels and things like that and the other global players, it does not comment at all," she said.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

It doesn't matter that Daniela lost this match today so long as she doesn't get down on herself. The fact that she is very disappointed shows her star quality and that she will learn a lot from this match. Hopefully Daniela can use this momentum for Indian Wells and Miami and she gets ok draws.

I think her first two matches going the distance meant that Daniela wasn't a fresh in the 3rd. I didn't see the match at all so I don't know but if anyone can make a highlights reel I would really appreciate that. I never download whole matches so a ten minute highlight video on youtube would be awesome!

Chin up Daniela!

A dissapointing loss, particularly given the position Daniela was in, and the fact that this would have been her third straight win over Zvonareva. Still, I would have been unsure as to what kind of performance Daniela could have put in tomorrow had she won (given the hours she's put in this week), and I think a potentially comprehensive defeat at the hands of Jankovic in the next round could have been worse for her confidence going into the North American hardcourts than today's loss to Vera.

Her win in Pattaya and her quarter-final finish here are results Daniela wasn't coming close to throughout much of last year, so that's a positive in itself. She can certainly do well in Indian Wells and Miami, and she has had good results in Charleston in the past too.

To be so close to winning has to be disappointing but there are many positives to take from this match. I really think she just ran out of steam at the end and emotions took over. She had a good run in Thailand and a good run in Qatar. She played well in the Middle East in '07 and then broke through at Indian Wells. I say rest up and get to CA early to prepare, that seems to be a key for her there. She has a lot of points to defend in Miami, Charleston and French Open; but also has a lot to gain at Indian Wells, Rome, and Madrid. I'm very happy with the way she's been playing, I think the coaching situation is a win for her.
