Word's fail me sometimes when I watch Daniela play, and todays match more than any other has left me speechless. Im proud of Daniela for reaching her first final since 2007 and I'm not going to stop supporting her just because she tanked this final but she has to take a serious look at this match, go over the tapes and have a serious think about what the hell went wrong and do all she can to correct it. She may have been on the tour now for a decade but she can still improve and on todays performance there is plenty of room for improvement. Daniela, we love you, we'll always love you, you don't need all of us telling you what went wrong today, just go back to the drawing board and try to come back better, that's all you can do.

All I can say is Daniela does not deserve some of the fans on here. That was utterly dispiriting to watch-no movement,no gameplan,no fight,no intelligence-she learned absolutely nothing from Dubai and every drop of criticism she gets for this performance will be warrented. How many things does she need to be in her favour before she can close out a final?

Daniela was smiling in the press conference...i think it'll hurt a little but Indian Wells is the best place for Daniela to be after this disappointing loss.

She's agonisingly close to the top 20 now, so a good performance ie. QF at least in IW will see her there.

What i like about this year is that Daniela is consistently winning matches.

Brisbane, 2-1
Sydney, 1-1
AO, 2-1
(Fed Cup win)1-0
Dubai, 2-1
Monterrey, 4-1

12-5 for beginning of season we'll take that! And she'll be around 12th in the race...

The next two tourneys are crucial though!

:? Ugh, this is very disappointing. You have to credit Pavlyuchenkova as she played very well in the last two sets, not particularly pretty but very effective. Daniela didn't maintain her momentum from the first set and she didn't take her chances and this was one of these matches where she really needed to take her chances. She had game points in her first two service games in the third set but got broken and she made a bad error putting that forehand long in the third game of the third when she had gp. Holding and being ahead in the third would have given Daniela a way back into the match and stopped Pavlyuchenkova's momentum but it wasn't to be and Pavlyuchenkova powered away. Daniela could have done better in the last two sets but a lot of the time Pavlyuchenkova was just in the zone and was blasting winner after winner and her first serve was massive. A power baseliner who just blasts away is a very tough matchup for Daniela.

Still, Daniela got to her first final since Linz, she'll go up in the rankings and she doesn't have too many points to defend over the next few months so she can higher. I just hope the last two sets don't affect her confidence too much but if you compare what she's doing now with a year ago, then she's in a much better place.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Well said Eddy...... Benji, take a hot shower and you will be OKIf you watched the match, you will know why I'm angry. Earlier in the day,I watched David Nalbandian win a Davis Cup tie for his country, playing despite doctor's recommendations on two bum legs, putting his career in jeopardy. To come from that to the terrible effort Daniela put forth in the last two sets was mortifying.

I don't mind Daniela losing, but I do object to her throwing in the towel quite so abjectly.

EDIT by the forum team:
Just because you are not a fan of Daniela, you are not allowed to try converting her real fans into haters. Stop it please.
Thanks

This is really sad :o If AP was playing good tennis from the 1st set like she did in the 2nd & 3th set. Daniela would have no chance to win the title (6-1 6-0).. wtf:!: :?: she reminds me a lil bit of jankovic today..too defensive at some points..she couldnt serve that well..just to safe and perfect for a fore/back-hand return. It's a shame with all that experience Daniela has. Like to see Daniela put more of her body when she hit the balls (add more power) AND CHANGE THAT FREAKIN SERVE!! im still glad that she get to the final :D

The the scorline says it all.
Daniela just can't take the momentum. And that is also why Daniela just has won 3 tournaments so far.

Such tournaments have to be won by Daniela, if she wants to get back into the top 10.

But I'm not surprised about that result. I think I'm just used to it after so many years.

Im also disapointed how she even didnt bother to play more agressive or something!?? If I were in her place I would have done everthing I could for a title...

She wont have chances like this often, so she could fought more at least :(

Hope she wont do this in IW.

Pls Dani surprise us in IW :)
