I can sleep easy now. Good win by Daniela. Nothing to lose against Safina. Should be a good match. Any chance of any live streams cropping up before the start of that match? I'm desperate to see it, aha.

Well done Daniela, surely the most convincing win of the season so far.
Who would expect that Daniela would find her form on clay ?
With Safina, i think it's 75 - 25 chances, but in tennis
you can take nothing for granted, anything can happen tomorrow...

What a great result. Can't believe it.

I hope the many changes of trainers now finally pays off. I think Lari Passos is one of the best trainers at all. Hope that they will work together for a long time.

Now against Safina will be very tough. I hope Daniela can give her a good fight.

It was impressive .
I guess that we won't know if it was a good game from Daniela or a very poor game for Cornet but I'm sure that with 2 victories against Cornet in 4 days and an excellent display against Mauresmo , her level of confidence must be high

The only thing now is she MUST BE seeded at Roland Garros to avoid an 1st round exit , so , keep playing like this and you'll make it for sure

I think a lot of it will depend on which Safina will turn up. Obviously Daniela will have to play well - but Daniela mustn't think "gosh i'm playing the world no.1". Daniela has a good H2H record so she must stay positive.

Well once again these two are meeting at the early stages of a tournament. The two have only met once on clay, and Safina won, but that was three years ago so not much can be read into that match. Daniela has won the last three meetings so that will give her confidence, and more importantly her last win came just over a year ago, so she will be able to draw on that relatively recent experience. I think it will be a tough test for Daniela, but also for Safina, as this will be her first real test since becomming world number 1.
