This is a reasonable field; but with no byes and seeing as Daniela will NOT be seeded for this, she needs a good draw to gain points and much-needed confidence. I hope this tournament really kick starts Daniela's rise back to the top of women's tennis. I'm well and truly over this rough patch! |

If Daniela's in decent form then this is a great chance for her to go on a run. The field is fairly weak but there are enough players there who can give Daniela problems and she can always give herself problems. We'll see what the draw is and hopefully she can get a good one that she takes advantage of. This will be a good gauge to her form. We'll see if Miami was just typical Miami for Daniela because that's been her only bad tournament since Brisbane. In all the other ones, she at least beat who she should beat and met her seeding and only lost to good players or players in form that week. A good run here will give Daniela confidence and momentum, but a bad result will probably mean a tough season on the clay. She doesn't have any points to defend until Wimbledon, so every win she gets gains her points and ranking. |

I am SO GLAD that we are now in the part of the season where Daniela has no points to defend til Wimbledon! Woohoo! However, I must remember that Daniela has to win matches. (gulp!) I just watched the match between Daniela vs Cetkovska and I really don't think Daniela is enjoying tennis at the moment. She doesn't smile at all, she's ridicously serious. |

I just watched the match between Daniela vs Cetkovska and I really don't think Daniela is enjoying tennis at the moment. She doesn't smile at all, she's ridicously serious. I don't think that she is exactly not enjoying it, but maybe just more focused. I did always think that daniela was more expressive during doubles matches. she looked like she was having more fun with someone out there with her. |

just watched the match between Daniela vs Cetkovska and I really don't think Daniela is enjoying tennis at the moment. She doesn't smile at all, she's ridicously serious.The only thing that concerned me was the way she fled the court after the losses to Cornet. I mean she really gave Usain Bolt a run for his money! I don't think tennis is bothering her so much as the lack of results.

A good draw for Daniela, even if she get's Bartoli in the 1st round. Also should she progress to the Quarters against potentially Wozniacki it's not too bad as Wozniacki is not such a good clay courter as she is on hard. However, Stosur could upset Wozniacki in 1st round. Anyway any win is positive here... |

Bartoli is such a shameless tournament hogger. Can't believe she asked for a WC for qualies. I think she asked for a MD WC but they couldn't give her one and asked if she wanted a Q WC instead and she accepted. |
