R32 lost to Ai Sugiyama 4-6 7-6(8) 5-7

I remember this loss. This was a tough match, there were so many ups and downs. Hopefully she can get through the round of 32 this year.

TV coverage starts this Saturday on FSN and Tennis Channel. I hope I get to see at least one of Daniela's matches.

I'll be happy with a third round. Though I kind of like Oudin, I want Daniela to kick her butt. Then the battle of the slumps. Hopefully Daniela will be able to get through it. Then either Pavlyuchenkova or Vika who both made it to the SF of Indian Wells.
I want talk more about the draw as she is so close to my other fave Vika, and since Vika has the toughest meeting in Pavlyuchenkova. From this perspective, hate the draw.

Considering Daniela's not seeded, it's a decent draw.

Oudin's very young and I'd expect Daniela to be able to beat her easily enough, although Oudin will have home support and she beat Bammer in Quebec last year, although Quebec is a tournament that throws up weird results.

Chakvetadze's form right now isn't that good and she probably is as good an opponent as Daniela could have drawn in the second round.

Third round will be difficult as Azaranka is playing very well right now and Pavlyuchenkova had a great run in Indian Wells.

It's annoying that Petrova got better and Bammer was hurt badly enough to withdraw from Indian Wells but not badly enough to withdraw from Miami. Still, Daniela can't control what other players do, she just has to focus on her match with Oudin.

Would be really happy with that draw (thinking of the current ranking position), íf there wasn't Azarenka in the third round.

I think Chakvetadze should be an opponent, who Daniela should beat. And if she looses to Oudin ... no I don't even want to think about it.

So a third round should (must) be possible.

If Daniela was seeded 32 spot then she would have Serena Williams in 3rd round - so i'd take this draw anyday. Remember it's very hard to play well in both Indian Wells and Miami so either Azarenka or Pavlychenkova could have a bad week.

I also think that providing Daniela beats Oudin that the match practice will help Daniela against Chavetadze.

Good draw Daniela 3rd round would be a respectable result, anything more a real bonus.

although Chak isn't playing at her best , she's a top 30 and if Daniela beats her it would be a great , great thing because it will give her confidence .
Maybe not being seeded in here will show Daniela that she needs to put her best in here to not drop even more in the ranks .

Cmon Daniela , you can do better .

It's not a bad draw, but then again, Daniela hasn't really been dealt a bad draw this whole year and she hasn't taken advantage, so....

I would love the draw a whole lot more if Azarenka wasn't there, but it's still a long way to even get to there. Focus on 1R first! Don't know much about Oudin, but hopefully Daniela is too much for Oudin to handle! Is Oudin a counter-puncher, hard hitter???

I'm really glad that she has drawn Chakvetadze early on because for a while I have thought that Daniela would have a good chance of getting a win over her after suffering several losses to her in 2007.
However, in my oppinion, the first round is potentially a disaster. Oudin has generally played well when she has been given opportunities to play on the WTA tour. In Miami last year she lost to Garbin in three sets (winning one of them 6-2), in Quebec City she beat Bammer and Puchkova (Puchkova in straight sets), and also qualified for the Australian Open this year.
I think there is a good chance of Oudin playing well and being inspired by the home crowd, and Daniela failing to keep rallies going and making alot of unforced errors.
Oudin certainly has some of the same wow factor as other youngsters such as Larcher de Brito and Robson, so a win over Daniela is possible.
I'm hoping that for once though, Daniela plays well here...

I'm sick of trying to predict what Daniela is gunna do, lol. Hopefully she gets some solid results before the clay court season kicks in, so she's not totally devoid of confidence going onto her worst surface.
