If Daniela shows her Schiavone-form she should win this easily. But if she shows her Zvonereva-form she wil loose it clearly.

Hmm. Quite decent draw for Danka..
I think she will win it although its Daniela, we can't predict..
Just hope..

2nd round will probably be a bit tricky.
One match at a time..

Wozniacki is still ill. To the Danish press she said she is only traveling to Zurich to avoid being fined, but she still has a fever and her thigh injury is still bothering her. So I stand by my first tought: 1st round will be much more difficult than 2nd round.

That sounds great! (sorry). I'll be there on friday and i hope i'll see her, it's my birthday wish (17th of october :) ). In 2006, i wanted her so much to reach the SF's because i had tickets for saturday, and she even reached the final. She battled past Schnyder exactly on my birthday, that was just great.

I think Danka is able to reach the QF's. She always handled the pressure much better than Kirilenko, altough Kirilenko's going to be hot for a revenge. Even an ill Wozniacki is definitely dangerous, but i hope Schiavone will come trough and lose afterwards vs. Danka. Pls reach the QF

My personal opinions about the draw are that its a tough one. Kirilenko can be a bit streaky but I just think back to when they played indoors in Kolkata last year and Kirilenko became the type of player Daniela hates, someone who gets everything back and makes you play that one last shot. Kirilenko by all accounts has had a pretty good year this year as well, winning a couple of titles so she will have plenty of confidence going into this match, which as we saw and heard from last week, daniela doesnt have. Wozniacki is the most likely the get through to the 2nd round and after their meeting at the olympics im not pinning too much hope on that match, and as for Venus, well Daniela has never beaten her when she was at her best, so I dont give her a hope in hell should she get that far, but she needs to get past two good players first starting with Kirilenko

Kirilenko is a tricky player..
So, I think one match in a time.. Like always..

Anyway, almost a lot of their match end up in a 3 setter except San Diego..
Hope Dani win!!

Not the best of doubles draws either, playing the world number 1's in the opening round. Will be a tough test for Daniela and Agnes who haven't played too many tournaments together.
A very tough doubles field overall though, with good depth. Raymond and Stosur opening up against Peng and Zheng, Peschke and Stubbs playing Groenefeld and Schnyder (who won a tournament a couple of weeks ago) and Srebotnik and Sugiyama playing the Bondarenko's (the Australian Open doubles champions) in the opening round.

I find the doubles draw funny. My favorite doubles team is Srebotnik/Sugiyama so I often noticed their draw. They are the second seed, but they haven't qualified for the YEC, and probably won't. They are playing the Bondarenkos, who are unseeded, but qualified for the YEC.

Yes it is strange. Due to the small size of the field mainly (just four teams, which I really do think they should change - eight teams like on the ATP Tour would be much better, and Srebonik and Sugiyama would have qualified then). I think in women's doubles if you win a slam you have a great chance of getting to the Championships even if you don't do much else for the rest of the year. Due to players swapping partners/playing different tournaments the rankings never seem to reflect the race as well as in the singles competition. If there were eight teams playing in the event then this would reflect the past year in doubles competition and would also be much fairer with regards to ranking points for the top teams. At the moment it looks like Chuang/Chan, Srebotnik/Sugiyama, Raymond/Stosur and Yan/Zheng are all going to miss out on a spot in the Championships (four teams who have had a big impact on doubles competition this year).
