Good start in the dubs for Dani and Lindsay, much tougher oppo's in the 2nd round and should be a close match up

they will face a tough opponent on second round. hope they win the game.

on the other hand, I hope Danka will get her form back. i really want to her to win more games . make it semis in every tournament she join.

do you think she'll back to her form? that would make us happy.

will do

It is all a question of confidence in tennis.

Maybe the best example that exists at the moment: Roger Federer
One of the best tennis players ever, but without confidence, as at the moment, he also loses matches and is far away from his best.

Couldn't agree more.

one of the main factors, but doesnt sufficied(i think is correct the word, the verb is suffice)
i get your point krima and adamsj but i think isnt the best paralllelism.
better to discuss this in atp forum.i think nadal cut off the difference from federer due his improvement and not
bc federer just lacks of confidence right now(is a factor but not the main).
as i have said in previous post i dont find any difference between daniela and others apart from sisters(only
they, have the fabric of champion).

I have a theory: that the reason Daniela is struggling at the moment is that when Henin announced her retirement a lot of the top players must have got really excited that the number 1 spot was open for grabs etc etc and would have given a lot of players a real incentive to work harder than ever. At the time Daniela was sidelined through injury so could do nothing but hope the injury would clear up quiockly and thus lost valuable time.

that theory doesn't make sense cause she lost from players who have no chance at all to be number one :)
so even if the top players got better , it wouldn't matter for Daniela's matches
Besides since Henin is gone, almost every top player struggles more then ever (only Safina is taking advantage of it)

I doubt it, too. She hasn't an eye on her ranking. Maybe in 2002 and 2003 she want to be the number one (she said it in some interviews). Now she only want to play her best and see what happens. If the result is the number one, it's okay, if not, she could live with it.

She sometimes struggle at the beginning of a season, or a longer offtime. And we don't know, if she really has no problems with her heel. Maybe there are other problems, she has to deal with. Or something of all? We know she is very reserved, and don't tell the publicity everything what bother her. Like the divorce of her parents some years ago.

Yeah my theory sucks ha ha... :D

I have a question - on the shoutbox there is something written about Daniela and Moscow but it's in slovakian.

"Hantuchová bude startovat na turnaji v Moskve"

Anyone know what it means?

Hantuchova-Davenport vs Vesnina-Zvonareva : 4th match on court 4 (not before 2:30 pm).

Now Lindsay is ready to concentrate on doubles. ;)

Their opponents are a very formidable team; Zvonareva won the doubles title there in the past and Vesnina has a winning percentage of over .600 the last two years. To drop only six games was impressive. They will need another top performance to beat Ai and Katarina (if they get there).
On another note, Daniela can use any match play she can get to try to recapture her peak form. She should use doubles as an avenue to work on whatever she needs to mechanically.

They are already there through this win against the Russians. They will play Ai and Katarina in round 3 - most likely on Monday.
Extra motivation to win for Daniela because if they get through to the quarter-finals they may play Groenefeld and Schnyder. So a chance to get a win over the German - even if it is in doubles.

Groenefeld beat Cornet in straight sets. That shows how the rankings can be deceiving and that Daniela lost to no scrub.
