well we don't know if it was Govortsova playing well or Kleybanova sucking. I saw Govortsova vs Serena last week, and I wasn't impressed at all. She's 17-21 this year. Losing to players like Dubois, Czink, Kerber, Gallovitz. And I know she beat Daniela very recent, but Daniela was just coming off an injury, so personally I don't see that match as important in H2H.

Its a tough draw which I was certainly hoping she would of gotten away without, especially considering that she is seeded 2nd id hoped for a slightly easier draw. Govortsova pretty much trounced her last time out but encouraging performances, especially against Sugi gives me room for some optimism, it will be a tough ask against the belarussian but Daniela is capable to achieving the win

anyway, if she really goes for the victory and a good result right before the US Open, Daniela will beat Govortsova, no matter how clearly she won her first round match.
This is a struggle against fate :lol:

I definitly don't like this draw. Govortsova didn't play bad at all against Serena and she will be full of confidence against Danka due to their last Meeting. As for the Quarters, i would definitly prefer Cornet, Srebotnik is always a though opponent for Danka, even if Danka's playing well. And even Vaidisova's struggling, i hope she won't advance to QFs, because Danka has a horrible H2H against her and her game style does not suit Danka.

I hope she can win some Matches here, it's a great chance to score some points before her Fall Run 2007. Btw the field is not very strong, struggling Chaky, Szavay, Bartoli and Danka the Top 4 seeds. I can imagine the winner of Cibulkova-Wozniacki to advance at least to semis.

Annoying schedulers, that's a really late doubles match for Daniela, especially considering her 2nd round match will be the following day. i'll be especailly annoyed if they put her 2nd round match against Govortseva 1st on the main court on wednesday...

They just broke for a 5-3 first set lead.
Daniela holds at deuce despite a DF to win the first set. :)

Daniela and Lindsay came from a break down in the second to win 6-3, 6-4. Both could use the additional match play, so that's great news. Way to go, ladies! :wav:

Daniela plays Olga Govortsova in the headline WTA match tomorrow evening at 7pm local time (midnight GMT). It's surprising they gave the headline spot to them as, on paper, Schnyder v. Mauresmo has more appeal to casual fans because of Amelie's track record and reputation. No doubles match tomorrow. Daniela and Lindsay play the Russian team of Rodionova and Voskoboeva on Thursday.
