Daniela's got Errani in the first round, so that will be tough, If she wins that she'd play Strycova or a qualifier and the third round would be Serena Williams, Pavlyuchenkova or Stosur. It's a really tough draw and things aren't getting easier for Daniela.

Good night nurse. Daniela clocked Errani at the start of the season, so now she has to deal with revenge factor plus home crowd. I have bad memories of a few years ago when my fellow Italians tore into Dani's psyche in a match against Schiavone that she might have won anywhere else in the world. The only way to prevent that is for Daniela to blow Errani away, and her recent form says that's not happening, as does the surface. Heaven be with her.

Yes I think Errani and crowd will be too much for Daniela this time especially due to Daniela's current form. And we know Errani will give it everything. I'm going for 3rd round and quarters so hope I'll be able to see her live.

Maybe you can catch her in doubles, eddy.
My wife went to Rome before I met her. She says the pizza is terrible there. Consider yourself warned!

I hope you have a great time in Rome, eddy, I really enjoyed it when I went two years ago. Give me a PM if you have any questions.

A lot will depend on what course the match is on. I think Daniela's best chance would be if the match is on Supertennis Arena which is the second show court and which requires separate tickets from Centrale or the grounds and it's normally fairly empty so it would lessen any home advantage which is why the match probably won't be on their. Central may not be too bad a it's normally fairly quiet in the opening rounds, if it's on Pietrangelo then it will be an absolute bear pit. Daniela beat Errani in Auckland but Daniela was playing well at the start of the year while Errani's form has improved a lot since then and Errani's at home on her best surface.

It's crystal clear what we think Daniela's chances are against Errani. I imagine she'll be a notable betting underdog as well. Young lady, it's time for the Candid Camera routine you pull off every so often when things look bleak (sometime, somewhere when we least expect it). Shock the world and the Forum! ;)

Daniela's playing doubles with Samantha Stosur and they start with with Italian wildcards Camerin & Dentoni. The winners play either fifth seeds Mattek-Sands & Safarova or Jans-Ignacik & Klepak.

Karin Knapp's playing with Vinci so it seems that Daniela's on to a new partner. Stosur's had a lot of success in doubles in the past and is an upgrade on Knapp so we'll see if this is a one week only deal or if it's a more permanent partnership.

Daniela's second on Centrale after an ATP match, play starts at 12 noon.

Eduardo Nicolas is now again coaching Daniela.

I don't feel she has an excited enough coaching camp.

Daniela looks so confused with her tennis right now.

Why can't she stick with someone for the whole year?

Much better from Daniela. Her tennis is still there she just needs to keep playing smart.

Just a nightmare match was 5-2 up in the 2nd set and then completely malfunctioned.

Daniela's belief has completely gone, maybe life is to short to carry playing when it's as painful as this.

4-6 6-7

I'm so sad for Daniela.

This loss has actually made me cry.

Just seeing Daniela looking so down on court is so depressing.

I blame Carlos Rodriguez for not committing to her. He should have either taken her on properly or not at all. He has completely confused Daniela's tennis.

I can only hope that it will click in the next few weeks but like I said Daniela needs an upbeat support team of 3-4 people like all the top players do. She needs to have a box where they are standing up cheering after every point-fist pumps and giving her constant encouragement otherwise I can't see how Daniela can get her mind and tennis back on track.

This is another loss but there are some grounds for optimism. It's depressing that Daniela was 5-2 up in the second set but ended up losing it but you just look at Azarenka last week to see things like that can happen to anyone. I prefer to see that Daniela was 5-2 up and put herself in the position to win the set because in previous matches she's been beaten pretty easily. Daniela's down at the moment and she's in a sustained slump but she's resilient and determined and she's come back from adversity so many time in the past.

It's interesting that she's back with Nicolas again although I suspected something with up with de Jager when he was tweeting about the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight from South Africa before Madrid.

Anyway, have a good time in Rome eddy and hopefully you'll be able to see Daniela in doubles. A run in doubles would be a nice boost to her confidence.

Wow Martina Navratilova just responded to my tweet!

Not sure what's she means though!?

I said she should coach Hantuchova and said great commentary today and she replied with this:
