We'll see how Daniela does. This tournament's seen Daniela's greatest triumphs but her recent record here hasn't been good as she's not been past the second round since 2009. Hopefully Daniela can be fit and healthy as she hasn't always been recently. A lot will depend on the draw so hopefully Daniela can get a reasonable draw and it would be fantastic if she could go on a run here. I really want her to do well here as this tournament means so much to her.

I think Daniela tends to put too much pressure on herself in Indian Wells in recent years. She should just go out there and enjoy her matches.

Shit draw:

1st Round Koukalova (who Daniela hasn't beaten in their last 2 meetings)
2nd Round Keys
3rd Round Jankovic
4th Round Wozniacki

3rd round here would be impressive

That is a Daniela Doomsday Draw. She's had some get-evens already this year (except for U. Radwanska, who BTW was ousted in the 1st round of qualifying...go figure), so she can take Koukalova. But as happy as we have been with her success so far this year, Dani would have to kick it up several notches and get a lot of luck to have any shot at unlocking Keys, who really drilled her the last time they faced each other. In seeing clips of each of her last 3 outlandish Danielathon comeback wins, it's been fun to watch her throw her arms up in victory then immediately bring her hands to her face in the classic "did I actually just do this" gesture. I'll gladly settle for one or two of those later this week.

Let's Go, Daniela!

Going on the head-to-head record Koukalova is tough for Daniela and Koukalova beat Daniela here three years ago. However, Koukalova's recent form has been terrible as she's only had two wins all year and the highest ranked player she beat was Mayr-Achleitner at 134. Koukalova's last top 50 win was in Katowice last April and her last good run was S'Hertogenbosch last June, the highest ranked player she's beaten since was Vekic at 74 in Istanbul. At the same time, Koukalova's given Daniela tough matches in the past and has beaten Daniela here so she has to be respected and it would be just like the thing for Koukalova to play amazingly against Daniela. We also have to see how fit Daniela is.

Keys will be a very tough opponent as she's one of the top young players, she beat Daniela when they played in Miami last year and she got to the Australian Open semi-final although she hasn't played since.

We'll see what Daniela does here. She just has to take things one match at a time and focus on getting past Koukalova.

Yes, Klara has been absolutely terrible sinking as low as to 86th place in the rankings. However, Daniela is rather unpredictable these days. She plays well in Pattaya, but rarely anywhere else. Anyway, with Klara, you know she is a player Daniela can beat. Keys is coming off an injury, so her form remains a little bit of a mystery.

Daniela's playing so poorly, like she is very nervous and not moving well...she needs to take the ball on and not be scared of it...hope she finds her game soon 4-5

7 errors in a row 4-6 :x

5-0 up in the 2nd, still playing poor but at least a bit more solid

4-6 6-1 awful tennis from the both of them, Daniela serving so many double faults
