Draw's just been made. Daniela starts with Marina Erakovic in the first round then it's Maria Sharapova in the second round.

It's a reasonable enough opener although Erakovic has beaten Daniela the previous two times they've played so she's got to be respected while Shazza will be very tough.

Well since she lost to Erakovic twice on their last meeting I'm not expecting too much..If Dani beats her then I want her to win against Maria..I think it's the time to beat Maria since she doesn't play good in the AusOpen. crossfingers....

Can't really expect more than second round here. Erakovic indoors is tough but Daniela can certainly take her out.

Daniela plays doubles with Petra Kvitova !

They meet in 1st round Alizé Cornet / Caroline Garcia.

So Petra is Daniela's doubles partner of the week. Intriguing. But Daniela is never going to win a doubles title again unless she can stick with one.
Daniela has a win over Erakovic prior to the 2 losses. It was on Wimbledon grass, I know, but it was a butt-whipping after she suffered an abdominal strain just a few days prior, ironically against Petra. Maybe this one of those perfect storms!

Daniela opens tomorrow as 1st match up on Court Central vs. Erakovic. 11 AM Paris time (10:00 AM London...5 AM New York). Her doubles with Petra is the 4th and last match on Court 1 tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

Daniela won 63 30 after retirement of Erakovic, next round Shazza. Fingers crossed ;)

It's a win against someone that had beaten Daniela the last two times they played. It would have been better if Daniela had actually won a MP but she was the better player throughout and would have won fairly easily anyway.

Daniela's got doubles later on today and she's got Shazza in the next round. The last time she beat Shazza was indoors in February so lets hope that continues.

Nice work, Dani! :)
You can't make this up, guys. Last night I participated in a sleep study overnight at a doctor's office. I was put into a small room. After a few minutes my attention was drawn to the only decoration on the wall to my right…… a plastic Eiffel Tower!! That was the omen; I knew Daniela was going to kick butt! She is the 3rd match on Court Central tomorrow. This might be her best opportunity to get Sharapova, who is clearly rusty. Never give up on the good times!

Lost the doubles 36 26 in exactly an hour...hmm..I hope it was Kvitova who was rubbish...anyway great win today in singles against a tough opener. Hoping Daniela at least makes it competitive against Sharapova. Unfortunately Maria always seems to have Daniela's number so not expecting Daniela to win but indoors gives Daniela a slightly more chance of getting it close.

So much for Petra being the answer. Next!
I don't yet know what was wrong with Erakovic, but it had to have been something pretty bad, as Dani broke her serve every time. We know Sharapova can be a danger to ball boys and fans in the first row on serve some days. Daniela has yet to have a really good match this year on serve (broken serving for the first set today, 3 set points missed, and also broken to be up 5-0). Let tomorrow be the day!

It's disappointing that Daniela & Petra lost in doubles although Cornet & Garcia had played together in Australia and at the US Open so they had a bit of experience playing together while Petra hardly ever plays doubles.

I suppose we'll find out we Daniela's going to be teaming with in the Middle East as all the players will be there. Lisa Raymond wasn't at Brisbane or Sydney and she's not in Paris so I'd imagine she'd team up with Daniela in the Middle East assuming she's there.

I hope she can make it tomorrow against Maria... She plays at lunch time - Very convenient, I'll come over to support her (I could'nt today).

By the way, this tournament has not many success with the public, it sems that tickets do not sell quickly. Probably the last edition in Paris, as the main partner GDF-Suez is retiring from this tournament to concentrate its efforts on RG :(
