Why didnt either of the players shake the umpire's hand???

I think the umpire was sick, and didn't want to make them sick as well. I saw her cough a few times into her hand.

Those last sets was pretty solid!

But she should improve backhand, keep her UE down and level up her serve for tommorow.

Im very happy shes through!

Its great to see Daniela be able to lose a set but stay in there and get a win. Wasn't always like that.

All Slovakia semi -- go Daniela

Once Daniela got going and got into a rhythm, she went through the last two sets fairly easily. The match was on Daniela's racquet because in the first set she was missing a lot of first serves and was making a lot of errors - I lost count of the times she put the ball long, especially on the backhand - while King was solid and got a lot of balls back and didn't make too many errors.

In the second set, Daniela played better, she got more first serves in, hit more winners and made fewer errors. Daniela broke King in the second game of the second set and that played a big part in changing the momentum as she held to go 3-0 up. Daniela had a cushion in the score and that put pressure on King and she started to make some more errors. The same thing happened in the third set with Daniela serving first and breaking King in her first service game and using the momentum to run away with the match. In the second and third sets, Daniela played well, her serve was better while she returned better, she dictated the rallies and either hit a winner or got an error from King while Daniela cut down on the errors. In the end Daniela won easily enough and she was playing pretty solid tennis.

Daniela and Dominika know each other very well. It will be a nice 3set match, I think.

I would like to see win Daniela more, through to final to beat Pavlyuchenkova - it would be a nice revenge for their last meeting by wining a title :D
but I could do with Dominikas win also. She could play for her first WTA title then...

First set will win Dominika I think, then 2nd set Daniela - after it gets darker, Daniela will be more consistent. She seems to play better in dark here :D

Come on Daniela :)

I'm just glad she's in a semi-final again. If she plays her very best, she could beat Cibulkova, but she has exactly the kind of game Daniela hates; she runs everything down, and frustrates her opponents into making UE's. Daniela will have to be VERY patient and keep her cool no matter what. This one is just too close to call.

Btw, the young guy coaching her is part of Eduardo's team or what?

I'll be devastated if Daniela loses to Cibulkova...the media will treat it like the passing over of Slovak no.1...

Go Daniela, thrash Domi...

Interesting encounter with Cibulkova, now that she is a dangerous player unlike in their previous meetings. Shame that Pavlyuchenkova is going to win the tourney regardless of her opponent in the final.

Honestly, I've no idea how she wants to beat Cibulkova with all those UE's and such a footwork. Dominika on the other side with her movement and her low number of UE's is poison for Daniela.
