Wimbledon Quarter Final: Rafael Nadal (ESP)(2) bt. Andy Murray (GBR)(12) 6-3 6-2 6-4

Just too good, all I gotta say on that

It cant be said any otherway. Rafa is just too damn good. Welldone to Andy for a great run and Rafa all the way for me.

Just 115 points to defend between now and the end of the US Open so Im feeling very confident that Murray can soar up the rankings. I think realistically he could reach number 6 in the world, and take Andy Roddick's spot, who has 900 points to defend in the same time period. I don't think Nalbandian and Blake will be much of a threat, and with the exception to Wawrinka (ATP 10), the rest of the top twenty are a long way behind the Brit.

Murray will next play in Indianapolis, week commencing July 12, amongst a relatively weak field.

Thanks to the wrist injury last year that hampered a large chunk of Murrays season like you say he doesnt have many points to defend compared to the rest. Could see a career high ranking for the Brit come the conclusion of the US Open and Im hoping, considering that Hard courts are his best surface and the US Open is his favourite tournament that he can replicate his Quarter Final showing at Wimbledon

Murray will miss Indianapolis event in order to rest ahead of a busy summer with the Olympics and US Open. A good decision in the long-term but a shame because the Indianpolis field is quite weak and Murray would have had a good chance of obtaining a third title of 2008.

Defiantly a bit of a disappointment to see him withdraw, but an understandable decision. I know some of the guys on the tour dont find the Olympics that much of a big deal, but I dont believe that is the case when something only comes around every 4 years, making it more allusive and putting you into a select party of people to have won an olympic medal. Also with Andy planning on playing doubles as well for Great Britiain im not surprised at all hes taken as much rest as he can get in before the games

ROGERS MASTERS 2008, TORONTO, CANADA
JULY 21-27 2008

Main draw singles - Andy Murray[8]

1R - BYE
2R - Johansson[LL]
3R - Stanislas Wawrinka[9] or Marat Safin[WC] or Sam Querrey
QF - Novak Djokovic[3]
SF - Rafael Nadal[2]
F - Roger Federer[1]

Beyond the second round its a very difficult draw for Murray. In Nadal's half once again! And in the same quarter as Djokovic and Ancic. Its so frustrating how Federer seems to consistently have easy draws. I hope Andy Roddick troubles the world number 1 in the quarter-finals.

Very tough draw for Andy. Second round will be a nice opener for him against a qualifier but from there on in its tough. Hes had a few matches recently against Wawrinka who is a greatly improved player and their matches have always been close, Safin, as seen at Wimbledon, is always a tough competitor and well I dont think I need to tell anyone about the World Numbers 1, 2 and 3. Gonna need Murray at his very very best to go deep in this one

After looking at the final round of the qualifying draw, even the first round could be tricky for Murray, with players such as Johansson, Clement and Young all potential qualifiers into the main draw. Hopefully Murray can start well from the first match and avoid an upset. This is his first match on hardcourts since Wimbledon but I think he should cope well.

It was looking good when I saw Andrey Golubev as the qualifier, but unfortunately Murray has also got lucky loser Thomas Johansson as a potential second round opponant.

A comfortable win in the end for Murray against an experienced opponent. Now it starts to get tricky as he now faces Swiss number 2 Stanislas Wawrinka for a place in the Quarter Finals
