The first few games of the match were terrible, there was hardly a winner, just errors from both sides. I think it's hard to say about the second set since we didn't see it ourselves. But there is at least one positive sign from is match is that she came back strong in the third set after losing the tiebreak frustratedly (especially when she fought hard to come back in that set). At the end of 2009, I did see Daniela was getting her form back (although it is nowhere to compare with her 2007 form). With her performance right now, I think she can somehow manage to stay in top 25 or with a bit of luck top 20 but no more. Such a shame that she lost to Bammer with a score like that. Although I didn't watch the match myself but that was disappointed. She couldn't win against any top 30 player since the beginning of the year. With that situation, she should be please staying in top 50.

I just watch the match of Daniela. She played just good enough to get through. I expected more than that actually but a win is a win and she still has a chance to improve in the next match. Good job today Daniela.

with so many top seeds were sidelined yesterday, Daniela's win is much better. I am glad she didn't give up and saved 2 match points to get to the win. Well fighting, Daniela.

Wickmayer is not easy at all IMO. But we can think positive a little bit because of the H2H. So I think Daniela can get into this match with little extra confidence.

I would say what Daniela is lacking the most right now is confidence. She just didn't believe she could win in many matches before. I don't like Masha honestly but I admire her spirit of fighting and her confidence. Every time she steps on the court, you can feel that she is very confident and ready...

I also think they will use the ranking of March 2nd. So she will be seeded, good for her since she has a chance to defend at least some points.
