She still has it! By that I mean both her ability and her off the charts class. The stories don't make it clear, but I hope the fans gave Daniela a long standing ovation. The memories will last. My gratitude for her is boundless. Love ya forever, Dani!

Really, Daniela did her best dancing on the court before she hit her shots. I loved watching her do the bouncing up and down. I miss it.

Under the category of it only figures... Of course, the year Daniela retires, the US Open is upset city galore and the draw is opening wide. BTW, when is Halep going to get branded the way our gal was for performance on a big stage? She has it coming far more than Dani did.

Will wonders never cease? Sara Errani suspended for doping. Who woulda thunk it? The truly hilarious part was that the test she failed was taken on February 16, right after Daniela, who we recall was a last minute fill-in, thrashed her in Fed Cup. I guess whatever she might have used in the past was...

Isn't this so complete, quintessential Daniela? Many athletes who achieved even some fame announce their retirement with a splashy press conference. Others don't even say anything, leaving their fans in a lurch until it becomes public in some other way. Daniela, bless her ever enlarging heart, gives...

I'll keep updating the site with whatever Daniela's doing and we can keep on talking about Daniela. I hope that you all keep coming because it's so much fun here, there are so many good people here and Daniela has the best fans. That is fabulous news. Thank you, Chungwit! I guess that means you're ...

There is an incredible interview with Dani under WTA Insider. Just a beautiful, incisive summary of her career and her future plans...Daniela through and through. I could go on for hours. It's not a surprise, and honestly, it's not saddening to me. Daniela went out her way, on her own terms. Her car...

From her FB and Instagram posts, eddy, Daniela is keeping quite busy, seems to be enjoying herself, and is heavily into promoting her energy drink. I might be surprised if she waits that long. It has to happen sometime.

Anyone else take note of the Bouchard/Sharapova drama, then Bouchard beating Kerber, and realize how little we miss all the immaturity and silliness of the WTA tour?

Do you honestly think she can still make the 600? :( :( :( The 600 career wins is something you and I want, and many of her fans want. Without knowing for sure, I don't think it means all that much to Daniela. I don't see her as a milestone chaser. She has totally proven that she is playing because...

It's bad, guys. Not a back injury. It's a stress fracture of a rib. Daniela posted the news on FB and said she will be out for some time. She called the pain unbearable. My heart is bleeding for her. You can read it and weep with me. Time for us to send Dani our love and our prayers.

Yeah, and she had posted one of those fun pictures on FB where she's hugging a giant tennis ball and stated how happy she was to be in Madrid. Makes me worried. Her replacement, Mattek-Sands, was belted 2 & 3 by Rogers, so maybe it was just as well. The draw sheet says Daniela has a back injury....
